Holiday Club 2008 - 7-11 January

In January Thembalethu Youth Workers and volunteers from Scripture Union ran a Holiday Club to promote Aids Awareness and Prevention. More than 500 children between the ages of 12 and 15 years attended over 5 days and the message of abstinence was well received. The Trust is hoping to run similar programs for the community in January and July of each year. We hope to have support of volunteer students for these programs.

Dole Visit - 23 January

Theda Doman, from the Cape Town Dole office and Klaus Weslowski from Dole, Germany visited the Youth Centre in Addo to meet with our Youth educators. We were all motivated by the interest they showed and are most grateful to Mr Weslowski for the personal donation he made above the annual contribution of Dole to the project.

Networking Conference - 29 January

An exciting networking conference was initiated by Thembalethu Trust in January and was attended by 50 people from local industry, Addo Park, Municipal and Provincial Health, Catholic Church, St Francis Hospice to set up a steering Committee for the expansion of Home Based Care in project in the Addo area.
